Old Delt Open Rules
USGA rules govern play except where modified by the Delcastle local rules (on scorecard) or ODO Local rules below.
Improved lies everywhere on the course except in hazards. In the fairway, within one club length. In the rough, you may improve the lie of the ball but not your predicament (12” maximum in rough).
All final putts on a given hole are to hit the bottom of the cup. There are no “gimmies”, not even 2”. Exception: If you are hitting a shot that will result in double par, pick up your ball and record double par.
Out of bounds and lost balls are played as lateral hazards. Place the ball within 2 club lengths of where it went out of bounds or into the gunk. Add one penalty shot to your score.
You may move and place your ball, no closer to the hole, if it is in a human footprint in a bunker. The ball must remain in the bunker.
Use of rangefinders is allowed.
Giving golf advice is allowed. Taking such advice is at the taker’s peril.
The youngest player in each group is responsible for helping the oldest keep track of his score on each hole.
The oldest player in each group is not allowed to throw clubs at the youngest player when he is informed that he had 8, not 6!
Double par is the maximum score for each hole. If you are shooting for double par, pick up your ball and record a double par on the scorecard.
